MacLeod Reckord developed a new model for open space planning that expands the boundaries of park and open space thought. With careful attention to the distribution and management of open space, the Plan seeks to accomplish multiple goals:
Protection of sensitive resources and re-connection of fragmented habitat
Connection of Lake Oswego to larger, regional open space systems
Improved citizen access to the City's resources
Expansion of the recreational trail system
Recognition and celebration of the City’s unique heritage landscape and vistas and to capture and expand upon those “green” attributes that can contribute to the identity and character of Lake Oswego as part of a comprehensive, managed Open Space system
