As a team member MacLeod Reckord provided master planning and design for a new municipal campus, including a city hall/police facility, community center and a 20-acre community park for the City of Sammamish. The program included creating a new civic plaza a community gathering place and venue for celebrations, Saturday markets, and festivals, as well as a community park with active open space, picnic areas, play area, interpretive trails, circulation, and parking. This LEED Silver certified project includes an expansive plaza area of permeable paving, universal access throughout the site, and preservation of significant critical areas. As the first major project for the newly incorporated City of Sammamish, the focus was to create a civic identity in a campus consistent with the character of a new and growing community, building upon the natural beauty and characteristics of the site.
