As members of a design team, MacLeod Reckord provided a master plan and site development plans for a new 250,000 square-foot high school in Edmonds. The master plan encompassed integration of an existing 1500-seat district sports stadium with siting for a new academic building, a 250-seat performing arts center, on-site parking for 500 cars, and new athletic fields, tennis courts, pedestrian circulation and plazas. The master plan was used to promote a successful 26 million dollar bond issue to construct the facility. MacLeod Reckord supported the architect and owner with planning and design services that included: evaluation of alternative sites and site selection; campus master planning; development of district wide uniform design standards; production of contract documents and construction observation. The project received the 1999 James D. MacConnell Award for Education Facility Project Excellence.
