Foothills Park

Lake Oswego, Oregon

MacLeod Reckord was prime consultant for this 9-acre City park along the banks of the Willamette River. The park had been an industrial site, and was reclaimed and restored as part of a regional multi-use pathway along the river. Planning included evaluation of alternative re-development scenarios for the upland neighborhoods between the waterfront park and downtown. Program elements include a civic plaza, interactive water element, an amphitheater, restrooms, shelters, viewpoints, and provision for a future pleasure boat marina on the river. Shoreline habitat restoration, wildflower/eco grass meadow and creative stormwater treatment systems were important elements in the park design.
